Task 1:

Listen to two people talking about looking for work. Click on this link  and answer the questions below.

1. Place a check-mark beside the job search activities Rosa carried out:

Listening  materials:

a.The first thing when she did when she started to find a job is that go to the employment centre. There were so much information there. 
b.To spend the time to think about what kind of job you want it before she started looking for a work.
c.The employment counsellor showed her a lots job postings, and told her the community agency will specialize in helping different kind of job seekers. For example, some help for women , some for new comer to Canada.
d.She was able to take part in job search workshops and spoke to job counsellor.


2. What three things did Rosa learn at the workshops?
She learned how to search and find out a job available, and how to write a resume.
How to do well in job interviews.
She suggested you may have a good plan includes knowing your skills are. You may research the job match the skills and interact.

3. Rosa mentions two ways to write résumés and cover letters that she learned. What are they?

You will need to be able to to write a good resume and cover letter.  She has got help from job counsellor , but she has also use the internet to find some information.

4. What advice does Rosa have for Gita about preparing for interviews?

One thing she has learned from the interviews she has been in , Pays to be prepared. Again, because she spent some time figuring out what her skills were?and  how her experience related to the job that she applying for? The interviews weren't so bad. 


5. What advice would you give Gita about looking for work?

To make more friends for getting and sharing job information. 
To participate more job fair.
To learn and be familiar with workshop culture.
To be confident and show your professional work experience in interview 
To analyze your own skills related with the job you applied.
